This list includes fictional characters in animated cartoons , adult animation , and anime. Harry Benshoff and Sean Griffin write that animation has always "hint[ed] at the performative nature of gender" such as when Bugs Bunny puts on a wig and a dress, he is a rabbit in drag as a human male who is in drag as a female. Within the Japanese anime and manga, yaoi is the tradition of representing same-sex male relationships in materials that are generally created by women artists and marketed mostly for Japanese girls while the genre known as yuri focuses on relationships between women. Some LGBT characters in animation are derived from graphic art works and video games. In the end Goldie and Rally part on a truce, especially since Misty has more or less voluntarily joined Goldie as her lover. Several episodes throughout the series hinted at Mr. Simmons' sexuality, including "Arnold's Thanksgiving" , a Thanksgiving-themed episode which implies that one of his dinner guests is his boyfriend, and that Simmons' mother wants him to date a female friend. However, it was never explicitly stated he was gay. Her sexuality was confirmed by the episode's writer, Shannon McCormick in the same string of tweets where he said Vera was lesbian.

Heteroflexibility is a form of a sexual orientation or situational sexual behavior characterized by minimal homosexual activity in an otherwise primarily heterosexual orientation, which may or may not distinguish it from bisexuality. It has been characterized as "mostly straight". As of [update] , most studies of heteroflexibility have focused on young men and women, especially white women in the college environment. Unlike " bisexual until graduation " and similar pejoratives, heteroflexibility is typically considered to have a positive connotation, and is often a self-applied label, although use of the term as a pop-culture slur has been attested. Gay sexologist and author Joe Kort has described homoflexible men as "a gay man who has come out and embraced his identity fully as a gay man and chooses to have sex with a woman. Straight people also reward the homoflexible man. I was telling a straight friend that as I get older, I find myself noticing women in sexual ways more than I ever have before. This straight friend high-fived me! Inherent in both of these terms is homophobia—the idea that there is something wrong or out of control about gay sexual behavior.
That would happen later. First, I had to come out to myself. Growing up in a socially conservative religion, I was taught that sex was reserved for monogamously married men and women. Well, I could chalk that up to appraisal, not desire. Women check each other out all the time, I told myself. I want to be like them, not with them. And sure, I thought about kissing my best friend, but that was just hormones misfiring I blamed a lot on hormones misfiring. I was convincing.
And yet, dating a man who identifies as bisexual remains a taboo. But by seeing bisexuality as a deal-breaker, heterosexual women might not only be unwittingly dodging perfectly decent partners, but the best. Research has found that men who are bisexual - and feel comfortable being out - are better in bed - and the relationship develops - more caring long-term partners and fathers. Some women who took part in an Australian study even said they would never be able to go back to dating straight men at all. It turned out that straight men were the ones with more emotional and misogynistic baggage. This is partly due to the fact that as these men tried to understand their sexuality, they also questioned the most negative aspects of masculine character traits: including aggression. To make their findings, she and researcher Sara Lubowitz studied 79 Australian women who had been with bisexual men. They were far more respectful.
